Maths and Literacy linked to WBD in P2B!

We have been learning lots of ways we collect and display information. Today we learned about Bar Graphs and used tally marks to help us display information in the form of a graph. We based the graphs on the story of the gingerbread man and took a class vote to see what animals in the story were our favourites. We did a fantastic job and used the scale accurately.

We we also came up with verbs to describe what we did today when we were baking with Miss Smart such as mixing, cracking and eating! We were excellent at coming up with verbs 🙂

Bridge Building in P2B

We have been learning about The Three Billy Goats Gruff. After lunch today we couldn’t believe what had been left. When we went upstairs there was blue all over the floor and glitter left with a note. It was Denzel asking if we could design a bridge so that his friends could cross the river. We started planning straight away and created the Success Criteria (what we need to include/think about when building our bridges)  as a class. Here we are trying to work out what important things must be considered when building our bridges. Mia came up with the great idea that they have to be the correct size so that the goats make it over safely. Logan then suggested we get rulers or a metre stick to measure the width. Excellent ideas girls!

Holey Moley!

P2M thoroughly enjoyed Circle Time.  We were exploring how change is a natural part of life.  Moley came to the classroom and needed P2’s help as he had joined a new school and Sonic wasn’t being kind and had taken all of Moley’s friends from him and called him an unkind name.  P2M had lots of suggestions to help Moley.  Look at some of the suggestions below:

“maybe you didn’t notice you have been leaving Moley out and it is upsetting him.” Evie.

“Moley feels invisible.” Evie, Kitija, Ryanna,

“Sonic has to try and let everybody be friends.” Rhuari.

“We will be your friend.”  P2M

“Do you play an instrument?  If you have something you can play, then you could start a band!”  Rhuari.
